Elaine Paige (Grizabella)

Elaine Paige - with and without her makeup
Actress and singer Elaine Paige was born in Barnet in 1948. She made her West End debut in Hair in 1969 after training at the Aida Foster drama school. Her 30-year career has been dominated by musicals, she has recorded 14 solo albums; "I know him so well", which she sang with Barbara Dickson in Chess, is in the Guinness Book of Records as the biggest-selling record by a female duo( see the pictures below). In 1995, she was awarded an OBE.
She has played Grizabella since 1981, and Susan Jane Tanner (Jellylorum in video) has played Jellylorum since 1981 with her in the same theatre. Well, her voice is really good, you can see her in the video "The celebration of Andrew Lloyd Webber ".
Productions: Sunset Boulevard, The Misanthrope, Piaf, Anythins goes, Chess, Abracadabra, Cats, Evita, Billy, Grease, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, Nuts, Rock Carmen, Roar like a dove.
Elaine has also performed in CATS video, Hey! Mr.Producer, and Andrew Llyod Webber's 50 years old ceremory, playing Grizabella.
Elaine is now performing "The King And I" at the London Palladium.
